Executive Chef : Hide Takahashi

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan; Chef Hide Takahashi has since traveled the world seeking exotic destinations such as Fiji, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, California, and now Hawaii. Along his many journeys and adventures, Chef Hide has found his passion within the culinary arts and even more so, within his own ethnic comfort food, sushi. Today, Chef Hide chooses to live on the island of Oahu with his Japanese wife and their son and daughter, both of whom were born and raised on the island of Maui.

Before joining the BANZAI ohana in 2010, Chef Hide has experienced working at places such as Suehiro Japanese Restaurant in Sydney – Australia, Kouraku Japanese Restaurant in down town Los Angeles, Cherry Blossom Japanese Restaurant in Orange County – California, Sansei Seafood Restaurant, Fresh Island Fish Co & Grand Wailea’s Kincha Restaurant all in Maui – Hawaii, as well as Kaiwa Sushi Bar Restaurant in Waikiki and at Uncles Fish Market and Grill on Pier 38 here in Honolulu. Chef Hide has also owned and operated his own businesses such as a tour company called Akina Tours, as well as an import export fish business named Saturn both on Maui.

Today we feel very fortunate that Chef Hide has chosen BANZAI Sushi Bar in our little town of Haleiwa to exercise his passion for sushi where he is able to serve our community and visitors alike with some of the very best sushi you will ever eat.
